Caroline and Gavin’s wedding at Congress Hall in Cape May, New Jersey, was the perfect blend of timeless elegance and coastal charm. From their save the dates to the day-of details, every piece of stationery helped set the tone for their sophisticated celebration by the sea. Designing their wedding paper was a joy, as each piece captured their unique style while creating a cohesive look that carried throughout the event.
The couple’s vision was clear from the start: formal and classic with a touch of coastal flair, perfectly fitting for a Cape May wedding. For their save the dates, we began with a palette of soft greens and neutrals, introducing their custom watercolor monogram featuring delicate florals. This monogram became a signature element, reappearing on the front of the reception bar and tying together various details seamlessly. When it came time to design their invitation suite, we transitioned to blues and golds, bringing in a more luxurious and coastal-inspired feel. The suite included an invitation with elegant gold foil, a reception card featuring a watercolor illustration of Congress Hall, and a custom watercolor map that welcomed guests to Cape May—a personal touch that highlighted the charm of the area.
Caroline and Gavin’s wedding paper wasn’t just a beautiful addition to their day; it also served as a thoughtful way to brand their celebration. Each piece was intentionally designed to reflect their style and enhance the guest experience. The ceremony program booklet included a watercolor rendering of Our Lady Star of the Sea Church, offering a warm welcome to guests as they arrived. Escort cards displayed clean, elegant typography and were paired with a soft blue table linen that complemented the coastal aesthetic. Menus at each place setting tied everything together, featuring the same typography and floral accents as the invitations. These details elevated the look of the reception and made every guest feel like a special part of their Cape May wedding.
The couple’s attention to detail extended to unexpected areas, such as the custom bar front adorned with their monogram. This element became a focal point during the reception, adding a touch of elegance to the lively atmosphere. Even the table numbers reflected their classic yet relaxed vibe, with gold accents framing clean, modern designs. Throughout the event, the stationery reinforced the seamless blend of formal sophistication and coastal charm.
Working with Caroline and Gavin was a wonderful experience. Their appreciation for timeless design and meaningful details made the creative process inspiring. By carefully curating their wedding stationery, they were able to tell their love story while setting the stage for an unforgettable Cape May wedding celebration. From the save the dates to the last wedding favor, every piece came together to create a cohesive and elegant experience that their guests will remember for years to come.
These thoughtful stationery details helped create a cohesive, elevated guest experience while tying together the couple’s timeless and coastal-inspired wedding theme.
