I’m so excited to kick off this new series in 2025, which is all about showing up on social media! There’s no better time to start the year with a social media boost because when it comes down to it, the most engagements of the year happen over the holidays 💍
By the time January rolls around, we have tons of newly engaged couples who are eager to begin their wedding planning journey. That’s why it’s so important for stationers, calligraphers, and wedding vendors to show up—consistently and intentionally. We want to be visible, present, and ready for them to discover our content, learn about our businesses, and ultimately inquire about our services.
Starting the year strong on social media can make all the difference! It’s a chance to build momentum and fill your schedule for 2025 sooner than ever. So today, let’s dive into 3 simple steps to improve your social media presence.
For many of us, just hearing the phrase “social media” can bring up feelings of anxiety or overwhelm. Maybe it makes you uncomfortable, or you feel exposed putting yourself out there. Or perhaps social media just isn’t in your comfort zone, and that’s okay.
Here’s the good news: we’re going to take this slow.
Whether you’re brand-new to social media or you’ve been inconsistent and feel like it’s on the back burner, we’re going to build your confidence step by step. Think of this as an opportunity to gradually expand your comfort zone until social media feels easy and natural.
The goal here isn’t to rush or power through. When we dive headfirst into a new habit without a plan, we risk burnout—and that’s not what we want.
Instead, we’re going to work through this in manageable steps, learning and growing as we go. Taking it slow and steady is how you’ll develop habits that stick and make social media work for your business.
Let’s talk about why social media is a game-changer for your business. It’s not just about posting photos or videos—it’s about building connections, showcasing your work, and creating opportunities to grow your business.
Every year, 75% of my booked clients find me on Instagram, and most of the remaining 25% are vendor referrals who likely found me there too. Social media is the hub where your ideal clients spend their time, scrolling for inspiration, ideas, and the perfect vendors to bring their dream weddings to life.
Even if couples discover you through Google or word-of-mouth, they’re still likely to check your social media to learn more about you. They’ll double-check your authenticity, see your style, and get a sense of who you are. This is why showing up on social media—intentionally and strategically—is so important.
This week, I want to help you take small, actionable steps to build a stronger social media presence. Here are 3 simple steps to take:
1. Use a personal photo for your profile picture.
Your audience wants to connect with YOU, not a logo. Whether it’s a professional headshot or a selfie, having a personal photo as your profile picture adds a human touch and builds trust.
The key here is personal connection! In the wedding industry, brides, grooms, and families are looking for people to work with on their special day. A logo can feel impersonal, but a friendly photo invites them to see the person behind the brand. So take a moment to update your profile picture today!
2. Optimize your bio!
Your bio is the first thing people see when they visit your profile, so make it count! I want you to have these 3 things in your bio.
These simple updates make it easier for potential clients to connect with you and take the next step.
3. Show up small but steady.
When it comes to social media, consistency matters more than perfection. Instead of setting lofty goals like posting a perfectly edited reel every day, focus on small, manageable actions.
Start by posting to your Stories daily. It could be as simple as a picture of your morning coffee, your to-do list, or your pet—anything that helps your audience connect with you on a personal level.
For your feed, aim for 1–2 high-quality posts per week that reflect your style and attract your ideal clients. Small, steady steps will help you build momentum and make social media a natural part of your routine.
CONCLUSION
Showing up on social media doesn’t have to feel overwhelming or stressful. By starting with small, intentional steps, you can build a social media presence that connects with your dream clients and grows your business in 2025.
